class=\"s1\">One Voice 4 Traveller s is a Community-based charity working with individuals, families, and groups from the Gypsy, Traveller and Roma\u00a0community across East Anglia in a supportive, advocacy and community development role.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Building bridges of understanding and developing engagement and dialogue between the Gypsy, Traveller and Roma\u00a0community and service providers in a sustainable way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We work National building bridges of understanding and facilitating positive engagement and dialogue<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Through our many and varied projects, we support members of the community on issues of Domestic Abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We work with service providers to develop the cultural competence of service access, provision, and engagement of community members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We undertaking project preventive work to reduce violence to and from the Community In a sustainable way that develops confidence and self-esteem in community members to make informed life choices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #000080;\">We are a charity and\u00a0a limited company our charity number: 1152377 and our Company number: 6350995<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span class=\"s1\">The Seven key values that underpin our work are Reducing Violence, Equality, Anti-Discrimination, Social Justice, Collective Action, Community Empowerment, and Working and learning together<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yiv9853908962yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511350540945_5174\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yiv9853908962yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511350540945_5175\">The uniqueness of our work has been achieved through our ability and development of being a community-based group which initially was founded by a group of Gypsy, Traveller and Romany women wanting to achieve a positive engagement with other communities whilst developing knowledge and ability within the GTR community itself.\u00a0 After meeting informally on a number of occasions one area of work they felt needed to be undertaken was around issues relating to violence and in particular domestic violence and abuse and thus One Voice 4 Travellers was established.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2295\" dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yiv9853908962yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511350540945_5226\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yiv9853908962yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511350540945_5225\">From this community-based setting, time was spent finding out what their strengths and weakness were in terms of running and developing as a group.\u00a0 This was also a time when new members were invited to take part in a volunteer capacity.\u00a0\u00a0Once a skills evaluation was completed\u00a0additional\u00a0training was provided to ensure all volunteers had the tools to undertake appropriate support roles within the community.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2547\" dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yiv9853908962yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511351179465_2372\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yiv9853908962yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511351179465_2373\">As time progressed and levels of skill and ability increased a decision was taken to become a limited company and then a Charity as it was felt that the passion shown for the work together with the skills and ability of members was such that to develop further the organisation needed to work not just within the boundaries on the GTR communities but also engage and develop with none community members and services particularly\u00a0as we had volunteers coming forward from all walks of life including social workers, teachers, health professionals etc.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2433\" dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2435\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2434\">One Voice 4 Travellers limited passion for the work we do stems from the humble beginnings of GTR community members identifying a need and working to achieve a solution to\u00a0those needs, out skills and ability base enables us to work and develop projects within the charitable ethos whilst retaining a GTR identity.\u00a0 Our passion to achieve the highest positive outcomes from project run and develop long-term relationships between GTR and services has meant that we are\u00a0professional highly skilled, whilst able to emphasize and\u00a0identify with GTR and services.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2436\" dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2438\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2437\">From the beginning we have been called One Voice 4 Traveller the reasoning behind the name is simply the word &#8216;One&#8217; was chose to indicate that we are not the only voice of the community,\u00a0 Traveller was chosen as\u00a0used by many from the various communities that make up the Gypsy and Romany community but also covers \u00a0Irish Travellers and new Travellers thus the name One Voice 4 Travellers.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2454\" dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2455\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2512\">Throughout our working history we have always found a need or development opportunity within the GTR before looking for funding as we feel this is both ethical and also means that when funding is given we are confident that the project can be run both to the highest standard, be of benefit to the community we serve and also be cost-effective.\u00a0 One of the key things we do is promote funding sources (unless asked not to by funder) so that the GTR community develop an awareness of who has been instrumental in us being able to deliver\u00a0the project and shows how\u00a0the partnership working between One Voice 4 Travellers, the funder and the GTR community achieve\u00a0<\/span>outcomes which are cost effective and\u00a0have a long-term benefits.<\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2456\" dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2652\" dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"m_-6891820270502206908aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1511353031978_2651\">All at One Voice 4 Travellers i.e. board members, workers and volunteers,\u00a0supporters of our work and community members look to the future with excitement and anticipation of the continuation of this work and much needed support service.\u00a0 We continue to develop our skills and knowledge base both as individuals being part of One Voice 4 Travellers and also as a community-based\u00a0group with Charitable and limited company ethos and principles of working.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">BACKGROUND INFORMATION<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><em><span class=\"s4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Mission<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Our mission is to reduce violence and promote equality of opportunities and good relationships between Gypsy and Travellers and the settled community in a sustainable and integrated manner. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">(Violence is defined as physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><em><span class=\"s4\">Key values<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Confidentiality: all our work is confidential<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Culturally appropriate: because we are Gypsies and Travellers ourselves we are able to provide culturally appropriate services and to advise other service providers and policymakers<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Non-judgemental: we do not take sides in a dispute but we help each side to articulate grievances in a non-violent way and to seek a mutually acceptable solution<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Professional: we have a full range of policies and procedures to ensure a professional approach in all that we do.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p10\"><em><span class=\"s4\">Beginnings<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">One Voice 4 Travellers was founded by an informal group of women in 2005.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The name ONE VOICE was chosen because together our individual voices become a communal voice to be heard.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We were concerned about domestic violence and violence in general within the community and we wanted to become a positive change maker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p14\"><span class=\"s2\">Having decided on an aim and direction we attracted a growing membership and the skills and experience of women who had been involved with business and setting \u2013up of interest groups through their work in the charitable sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p14\"><span class=\"s2\">We devoted our personal time and resources to developing the necessary skills and abilities within the group, formulating policies and procedures, developing strategies for reducing violence to and from the community, and dealing practically with domestic violence in a sustainable and progressive way.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>During this time we managed to obtain small pots of funding to undertake projects throughout the Region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">In 2007 ONE VOICE became a limited company and in 2009 the organization was accepted for registration as a charity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p23\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span class=\"s4\"><b>One Voice structure<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Today ONE VOICE is considered by many service providers to be an excellent example of an up and coming community organization that can be relied upon for best practice of working with the Gypsy and Traveller community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">ONE VOICE has a board of eight members who meet eight times a year and is responsible for the strategic direction and policy of the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">There is a staff team of two full-time managers (PQASSO Mentors and Leadership Managers), three part-time field workers.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>On a day to day basis, the two full-time managers oversee the organization between them, (one covering Norfolk, Peterborough, Herts. Beds and north Cambridgeshire and the other covering South Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Essex and London area).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">We have a membership base of over 160 members or volunteers who contribute a range of skills and varying amounts of time to our work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p23\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span class=\"s2\">Volunteers<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Volunteering is a vital part of One Voice and supports the work of the organization in a variety of ways.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Potential volunteers are interviewed and, if accepted, must undergo an enhanced CRB check before taking on any work with our organization.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They must then work through our induction checklist for staff and volunteers which included reading or having read to them, our policies and procedures.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We also ask them to agree to our volunteer agreement and to fill in the \u2018Health declaration form\u2019 or at the permission to consent to medical treatment section.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p14\"><span class=\"s2\">Volunteers are given individual monthly supervision and are made fully aware of our internal grievance\/complaints procedure.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>All volunteers work with a project manager to agree on a training programme, which will develop and enhance their skills and we positively encourage the transfer of skills through \u2018shadow work\u2019 and internal training.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Volunteers undertake child protection and vulnerable adult training on a regular basis so that they are up-to-date on procedures of work. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">To allow our group to be as inclusive as possible all our systems are run on traffic light coordination and sign framework and we try where at all possible to use plain English and have a SCOR rating of 11 for reading a document. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span class=\"s4\">Achievements to date<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s4\">We have run a number of successful projects including the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">The Healthy Living and Emotional Wellbeing Project in partnership with Buckinghamshire PCT and Buckinghamshire New University. We recruited and trained outreach health advocates from Gypsy and Traveller sites to engage with women, particularly young mothers and older women, to offer advice and information on their families\u2019 health needs, such as accessing screening for cardiovascular health and diabetes; healthy eating; emotional wellbeing and access to social care support.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This project benefited about 60 families across South Buckinghamshire. For which we were awarded the Health and Social Care Award 2in 2010<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">The STAR project providing advice, information, and advocacy to Gypsy and Traveller women over 50.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We encouraged them to access statutory services and employed a mental health advocate to work with individual women who had emotional and mental health needs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The result of our advocacy work was that 50<\/span> <span class=\"s2\"> elderly Gypsy and Travellers were found permanent accommodation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">In a racism project funded by Advice UK, we collaborated with the Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality to make a film to raise awareness of discrimination against Gypsies and Travellers and to challenge it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>ONE VOICE worked with the community across Suffolk to capture stories for the film.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">We have worked within Norfolk to become the first 3<\/span><span class=\"s9\"><sup>rd<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s2\"> party reporting Centre for Gypsy and Traveller women and girls around Domestic violence and abuse.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This enables women and girls to report incidences of domestic violence and abuse either giving details or anonymously and is based on the DASH and MARAC system of reporting.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Work with the Heritage Trust to establish stories from World War Two from East Anglia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Work is undertaken with women and girls to look at how they use to live in comparison with modern day living.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">From the various projects, we have produced CD\u2019s consisting of:-<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\"> \u2018It\u2019s not just a Traveller thing\u2019 Gypsy and Traveller women discussing domestic violence and abuse.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">\u2018Youth talk on Domestic Violence\u2019 Gypsy and Traveller youth (male and female) talk frankly about domestic violence and abuse.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Under the Eastern Sky\u2019s- Women and girls talking about their lives in the past compared to modern day living. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span class=\"s4\">We have received a number of awards:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2010 Charity Award from the PCT for our work with families to access health services.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2010 REC: Suffolk Champion Award for volunteering work<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2010 Norfolk EDP: Norfolk People of the Year Award for work with victims of domestic abuse.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">PQASSO Level 2 quality assurance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2012 managers Janie Codon received M.B.E and Shirley Barrett received B.E.M in Queens honors list<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Sue Poole award 2012 for work in Suffolk.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Racial Harmony Award Bedfordshire for working with communities<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2015 One Voice was runner-up in the Centre of Learning award in Suffolk<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2016 One of our volunteers was runner-up in \u2018Learner of the year\u2019 In Suffolk<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">2016 Four members of One Voice 4 Travellers achieved \u2018Domestic Violence Community Champions\u2019 Status<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p9\"><em><strong><span class=\"s4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Some of the Training and development we have undertaken with partners<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span locality team, Diverse Community Forum<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Norfolk Elderly<\/li>\n<li>Colleges and schools<\/li>\n<li>Hospitals and Hospices<\/li>\n<li>Healthwatch<\/li>\n<li>We attained PQASSO Level 2 and are qualified PQSSAO Mentors and have in the past assisted other GRT organizations to implement and or improve their Quality Assurance systems and for some help obtain their PQASSO quality mark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p9\"><em><span class=\"s4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Example of feedback on training<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p19\"><span class=\"s2\">56 staff who attended the training provided and filled in the feedback forms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">Of those, 28 said the standard of the training was excellent and the other 28 said it was good. No one used the &#8220;adequate&#8221; or &#8220;poor&#8221; option to this question.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">27 said that the style and delivery of the trainers was excellent and 28 said that it was good. One person ticked &#8220;adequate&#8221;, which is still not negative!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">On the question of whether the sessions were paced appropriately, 35 said always, 19 said mostly and one said sometimes, which shows that the pacing was just about right. <\/span><span class=\"s10\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\">On the question of whether the attendees thinking on the matters addressed will develop as a result of the training, 37 said greatly, 18 said moderately and one said it would be in a limited way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">On the question of whether the training will affect working practice 22 said greatly, 29 said moderately and 4 said in a limited way. One person left this question blank.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">All 56 said that the training was worth it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">All 56 said that they would recommend the training to colleagues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span class=\"s2\">&#8220;I think that this feedback is really outstanding. It shows that the training was pitched just about right and that it was meeting a very real need. Some of the people who felt that the training would not affect their working practices were administrative staff, but even they thought the training was worthwhile and would recommend it to colleagues&#8221;.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s2\">Norfolk and Suffolk Probation Trust<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s4\">We helped individuals to achieve:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Members of the community were trained internally and received certificates in many subjects including child and vulnerable adult protection and confidentiality.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Our field workers achieved level 3 NVQ youth work<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">A group of young people developed a bid for a county youth fund.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Youth from the community have been undertaking shadow work with service providers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Two young people are undertaking a level 2 City and Guilds Youth Work qualification.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Two young mothers have undertaken \u2018Introduction to Youth Work\u2019 <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">12 people were trained in outreach and advocacy work for our healthy Living and Emotional Wellbeing Project.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">4 people have trained in the Domestic Abuse champions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p10\"><em><span class=\"s2\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Services and partnerships<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">We provide the following services:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">information and support<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">outreach and advocacy work<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">youth groups<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">groups for the elderly<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">initiatives to address all forms of violence<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">consultation and representation<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">training and cultural competency<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Women and girls groups<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Family groups <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Initiatives to address drug and\/or alcohol abuse in families\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s2\">Established the first ever National\u00a0 3<\/span><span class=\"s9\"><sup>rd<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s2\"> party reporting for women and girls\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">We also liaise with a range of external bodies on behalf of the Gypsy, Traveller, and Roma communities in East Anglia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">We are members of a number of national and international organisations such as Fair Play for Children, Action 4 Advocacy London, Advocacy Project Washington and members of Essex Advocacy Services and Community Development Network. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p23\"><em><span class=\"s2\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Office opening times<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">The service is available to service users from Monday \u2013 Friday for a total of 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, with a contact address for correspondence. We use hot desk facilitation for outreach workers thus utilisations of office space provided by partner service providers will eliminate the cost of separate office facilities and reduce both travel time and cost to deliver this service and enable increased front line service delivery to be provided by support staff.\u00a0 We do also offer a support service for emergency and priority casework\u00a0outside of the above times such as our Safe Caravans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><em><b>OUR FUTURE PLANS<\/b><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">At the present time we have the following projects running which reach people through access to the project:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Individual work with women and girls on issues of domestic violence and abuse<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Group work raising the awareness of domestic violence and abuse and where to get information, and help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Family work \u2013 supporting families to look at issues within the family and how to resolve in a non-violent manner, also looking at what services may be available to help them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Women and girls \u2013 women and girls from the community being able to look at and talk about the issue they face around domestic violence and abuse in a secure and safe environment i.e. our Safety caravans<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Women and DV \u2013 working with a group of women to look at Domestic violence and issue they face on a daily biases<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Working with young people and their families around support when a family member is affected by drugs and\/or alcohol abuse<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Working with Gypsy and Travellers in Suffolk together with Hospitals and Hospices to establish positive protocol of \u2018End of life\u2019 care<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This work will include three CDs one of Gypsy and Traveller community, one of hospitals and hospices and third on coming together and giving cost effective solutions to the barriers identified in first and second CD.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Continuing to undertake 3<\/span><span class=\"s9\"><sup>rd<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s2\"> party reporting in Norfolk around domestic violence and abuse, with the aim of extending this to a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>regional project <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Cultural competence Training of services \u2013 this is ad hoc when requested by services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>New needs and new development<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Continue to expand the \u2018safe caravan\u2019 concept.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Work with carers to facilitate access to services, and support to be continued and developed in other counties in line with good practice achieve in Suffolk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Work on abuse substances and support for family members across East Anglia not just in Cambridgeshire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Work on support for mental health needs (family and individuals)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Inclusive work with Roma refugees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Undertake projects on Domestic violence support which have a large geographical area and are long term based.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Work with councils and services to develop the concept of the big society and localism bill through engagement activities with mainstream society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s4\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Fundraising plans<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">As a charity, One Voice 4 Travellers has a long history of finding new funding sources for our innovative work to help those vulnerable Gypsy and Traveller s that are not supported by state services.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our collaborations with business, investors, grant-making trusts, individual donors and the state have allowed us the scope to create work, which meets their needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">We are continuously and actively looking for new opportunities to generate income, we are always willing to investigate the potential of pilot projects, and partnerships, which will help us, make a difference to lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">The money we receive is very carefully allocated to meet the needs of disadvantaged individuals and families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">We will continue to look for new funding sources for our work and will also re-visit and develop relationships with those who have funded projects with us in the past so that it may be possible to develop the project already undertaken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\">Marketing is now a key item on our Board, Management and team meeting agendas.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This includes not only looking at projects we have found need undertaking, but also looking
